When I met up with Michelle and Wayne over coffee for the first time, I already felt like we had been friends for years! I think we chatted for almost 2 hours! It might have been our similar background (love to eat, being goofy, and laugh at everything!), but to be honest, I really think that it was God who brought all of us together, and I can’t wait to celebrate them on their wedding day in just a couple of weeks!
Michelle and Wayne met when they were in college at Syracuse through church. They have since been dating for almost 10 years! Though a major part of their relationship was spent long distance apart, it taught them the skills to communicate and love the other well even when they see each other often.
To say Wayne did his homework in preparation of his proposal is an understatement. Wayne learned all about the diamonds (the 4 C’s, duh!), decide the ring setting himself, and even attempted to do the smithing work at home (which he would not recommend, as he almost burn down his home, haha!), he wanted to proposed to Michelle with the perfect ring that represent his love for her. He even made his own ring box with a special effect! He spent so much time and energy on getting the ring together that he had none left when it came to the actual proposal part, so he devised a plan to have Michelle plan most of it!
As they’ve been talking about purchasing a telescope to go see the stars, Wayne figured that it would be amazing to propose under the star-filled sky, so he decided to have Michelle planned a camping trip for a meteor shower, and Michelle didn’t suspect anything! Everything went perfectly! Well, almost! Michelle was not too thrilled that they were staying up way past her bedtime for the meteor shower, not to mentioned that she had to plan most of the trip herself! But everything was forgiven when she realized how much work and thoughts Wayne had put in, and the rest is history!
For their engagement session, we visited Old Town Alexandria, which happened to be right before Halloween. The quaint houses and streets were lined with the fall foliage and decorations, and they made the perfect backdrops for them!
Michelle and Wayne - I had so much fun hanging out with you guys for this session, and I can’t wait for your wedding day to come!
