Jefferson Lane Styling Session
Today’s blog post is a bit different than usual. I had the pleasure of meeting Brooke of Stem and Thistle at Kelsey & Gordon's wedding, and we had become great friends! Brooke introduced me to Julie and Ellen of Jefferson Lane earlier in February, and we hit it off right away! We noticed that we have a ton in commons, and I might have even been in the same class in college as Ellen at the University of Maryland! Listening to their story of how they started and where they would like to go really inspire me to do something. Especially during the slow season, I've been itching to photograph something different from a typical wedding day. That's when we decided to have a styling session to just hang out and have some fun!
We got together at Congressional Country Club and had a styling marathon. Brooke brought a bunch of beautiful florals, bouquet, and boutonniere, with poppies, ranunculus, sweet pea, and so much more! Julie and Ellen brought their vast selection of hand-dyed silk ribbons and various styling goodies from their personal collections. It sure was a photographer dream come true to photograph beautiful details, especially when each item has its own story! As Julie was organizing each prop from her collections, she told us where it came from and why she treasures it. Meanwhile, Ellen explained the process of deciding the names of the silk ribbon colors. I just love it when each element in the photograph has its own meaning and story behind it!
It was a blast hanging out and styling with you guys, Brooke, Julie, and Ellen! We should totally do it again! And everyone else, go check out their website!
